It's finally warm enough to be able to open up all the sliding doors and windows and let some air in. Helps much with the cooking.

| Not my kitchen. |
Australians are fond of the of the open kitchen concept where the kitchens open up to the living room and beyond. I've found this to be quite practical, especially if you have small children because it allows you to keep an eye on them while bersilat-ing in the kitchen. Because of that, it was one of the features I looked for when we went house-hunting on our recent trip back to KL. And because I only ever started cooking when we moved to Bris, I've never found the need for a dry kitchen/wet kitchen layout. (Macam redundant jer, tak eh?) The only drawback is that bila menumis ke, menggoreng ikan bilis ke and the likes, waaaah semerbak bau satu rumah. (Yeah, yeah, I guess that's why the dry kitchen/wet kitchen concept is so popular in asian households.) But I believe that proper ventilation should do the trick, tak? Must share though, that we had an asian neighbour at our old place who used to bersilat outside on the balcony using her barbecue stove when cooking asian dishes. Kelentung-kelentang-sizzle-sizzle-pishhhhh went the stuff inside the wok!!! Hahahaha... asians are masters of improvisation!
It's Chicken Rice today at the request of The Hasben. I think he's on a self-imposed sort-of diet (after the gastronomical journey that was Eid in KL). He's been controlling his portions therefore I pun tak nak lah masak banyak sangat. (I'm really REALLY bad at estimating portions. Sometimes I cook enough for a kenduri of 40 and at other times, macam tak cukup pulak). Today, however, when I decide not to masak berlebih, Kenit tambah nasi dua kali. *sigh*. Luckily with so much baby in my tummy there's not much room for anything else and I managed with just a small portion for myself. Alhamdulillah, cukup cukup sahaja.
