There was a (private -  just amongst the girls) buzz on Twitter this morning as a gf asked about my pregnancy.  I forgot that I hadn't really made the announcement yet despite being all of 32 weeks along tomorrow.  Not that I was hiding it (much), but I just never found a way to fit it into conversation.  Least especially on twitterverse.  Plus, hiding a baby bump (bump ke kalau dah sebesar tempayan cenggini?!), is much easier when you're more than 6000km away.

Speaking of hiding the bump, when we were back in KL for a couple of weeks for Eid bebaru ni, we went to see Dr. Hamid Arshat for a consult (recommended by TH's boss - This pregnancy has not been without its worries... but shall leave that for another time).  During registration, the nurse/receptionist asked me when my last period was.  I told her... it was in February.  Surprised, she asks... "oh so akak pregnant la sekarang ni?".

*blink blink blink*

Yes, stumped me too, there.  Swallowed my smartass no-I-just-swallowed-a-watermelon and oh-I-just-had-a-really-really-big-lunch remarks and squeaked out a barely comprehensible "yes".  Please take note that I AM NOT one of those women who don't look pregnant from the back and just happen to carry a small flattering bump on the front.  I am (gratefully) just over 5' tall and therefore there is no effing way I can manage to hide a 31 week baby bump no matter how much I want to.  Rather, I might say I look like I've stuffed a VW Beetle down my shirt :p

Anyway, had a moment of horror on the plane back to KL when I had to take Kenit to the toilet and my shoes wouldn't fit! My feet had swollen up to ginormous proportions and looked like I was trying to stuff an elephant's foot into my delicate sparkly purple ballerina flats.  I was wrong to think it was a temporary sitch... the swelling subsided a little but it was painful (for my feet as well as my eyes) to walk straight in those flats.  Glad to say though, that all the swelling has gone now that we're back in good ol' Bris.  Must be the weather.  The cold has definitely shrunk affected blood vessels and such.  Will start wearing my flats again once my toe feels better.  Kenit dropped a teak coffee table on it.

I was a patient of Dr Hamid Arsat too once. He has seen more of me than The Mr has, I would imagine :P

Skals.. last year we met again during Hajj. We both attended Sheikh Hussain Yee's daily Fajr/Maghrib halaqa on the roof of Masjidil Haram.

Aw-kwarrrd. XD I hope he didn't recognise me :P

eeek... awkward! decided to try a male gynae this time around (ada orang kata male gynaes are more sensitive and less ganas, orang katalah), but after seeing another female gynae when my ori doc was away... wished I'd stuck to a female.
